SELF

I'm supposed to be working on a picture for my friend, but got sidetracked with this. XD

Another Ayn Rand inspiration. I wanted to mimic the well-known Obama Hope poster by Shepard Fairey, but of course with Rand instead. Originally I intended it to be blue and red, but after trying for a while it wasn't turning out right so I went with black and white. Maybe that makes it look retro? Haha.

I sketched it with pencil, then colored in the black with marker. I scanned it and put it in PS to add the shades of grey, font, etc.
The font I used was called "nevis."

I wasn't sure what word to use. I considered 'hope' but it didn't really feel right to me, plus it's overused. I asked my boyfriend what word he thought should go at the bottom of an Ayn Rand poster and he paused thoughtfully then replied, "Self," since individualism is a major theme in her works.
